Otley Town are no surprise to us. We have now played then 5 preseasons in a row. We had 22 players available last night. Which meant an excellent opportunity to view some of our new players plus mix up teams. Manager Stephen Quinn chose to go with 2 starting 11’s. 1st & 2nd half. Giving the whole squad an opportunity of fitness and quality time to play.
Game was rather even for 1st 20mins with bits of action from both teams with not much between the teams. Marshall had created a few good opportunities with Regan Lowe making the Otley Town keeper save a couple of shots.
Unfortunately it was Otley Town who took the lead. Which was soon wiped out as Marshall Park had a corner which was wiped in for one of the Otley Town players to flick on and Mccauley Elliott to tap home making it 1-1.
Soon after there was a slight mix up between defender and goal keeper for Otley player to make it 2-1 to Otley Town.
2nd half and switch of players. Marshall Park played some excellent football, keeping possession, playing the ball wide and a much quicker energy and passing.
Few corners from which Otley Town Keeper pulled off an excellent close range shot from Ben Walker. Mark Atkinson had an excellent opportunity broke though one on one with Otley Town keeper putting the ball just wide of the far post.
Marshall kept the pressure on with some excellent passing, penetrating runs from Macca, Nathaniel Brazier & Mark. Unfortunately Otley Town keeper was in the right place and pulling off saves.
Marshall park broke away later in the game for Otley Town defender to but in an excellent block. Corner to Marshall Park. Dan Hill put the ball into box for Ben Walker to try attack with an Otley Town player fouling him. Ref blew for a penalty. Matty Fannon stepped up to take the penalty unfortunately was not to be his or Marshall Parks day as the penalty went over the bar.
A completely dominant 2nd half from Marshall Park with Christian Lloyd in goal not having to make one save. Very unfortunate not to score. Very very positive preseason run out once again for all the lads.
Again excellent attitude, spirit, determination & togetherness.
THANK YOU to the supporters who were out in numbers.
