Marshall Park 4-3 Inter Leeds FC

Marshall started off the game the far better team. First 15 mins creating chances but not able to score.
The first goal came around the 20 mins mark where our keeper Christian Lloyd played a great goal kick onto Marks head (I think) who flicked it on to Matty Fannon who was then in on goal. He calmly slotted it past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 to Marshall.
The second goal came not long after when Ben Headley had a free kick in his own half and he picked out Mark who flicked it on to the goal. It hit the post and nestled in the back of the net. Mark Atkinson back scoring goals after a couple of games out injured.
Then Inter Leeds managed to pull a goal back after a nice passing move. Their attacker slotted it into the net to make it 2-1.
Marshall needed the next goal to create a cushion again which did come from Kieran Liam Yaffe taking on a couple of players in the box. He was then fouled and a penalty awarded to Marshall. Mark took the penalty and scored into the top corner. 3-1 to Marshall.
Not long before half time Inter Leeds pulled another goal back after an error in defence where Ben H passed it back to keeper Christian and it unfortunately slipped under his foot. After that Marshall were very quick to restore the 2 goal lead. A corner was swung in and Matty headed it back across goal and Yaffe was there to nod the ball into the net. 4-2 Marshall.
HT – 4-2.
The second half was a lot slower than the first. Marshall was defending the lead best we could with not creating too many chances in attack.
Unfortunately an attack from Inter Leeds with Alfie pulling off an excellent save with ball being tipped onto the cross bar. Soon later Inter Leeds once again on the attack with a ball not cleared too far from the Marshall defense with the ball breaking to Inter Leeds who scored to make the game 4-3. 63rd minute into the game.
Marshall made a few subs to try change the game up a bit. Fresh legs helped as we looked to break on the counter and keep solid in defense. We did manage to almost make it 5-3 with Matty having a shot excellent save by Inter Leeds keeper. Ball then breaking to Yaffe who moved it from left to right foot swivel and shot again for the keeper to pull of an excellent diving save to his left.
Last 15 mins saw us siting into defend but able to break out to look to finish the Game off with a 5th goal unfortunately we struggled to get that goal. With Daniel Jackson getting the ball just over half way line running with the ball turning defender to left and right managing to create space for a shot for the keeper once again pulling off a fantastic save.
Marshall dug deep with all the team putting excellent effort into defending the 4-3 lead to progress through to next round of cup. The game ended 4-3 to Marshall and we are in the quarter finals of the League Cup..
