Well after a late late cancellation we managed to arrange a last minute friendly vs St Wilfrid’s FC in Harrogate this morning. St Wilfred’s was challenging to win there league last season and won there league cup trophy. A team we are very familiar with having played them many times over past number of seasons….

The game started well. We were on the front foot early and had a few chances. With a few shots going wide or over the bar. We opened the scoring 25 mins in from a free kick from Dan Hill that was spilled by the keeper and followed in by Nathaniel Brazier. About 5-10 mins later we doubled the lead through Ben Walker pinpointing a pass from defence in behind to Matty Fannon who took it round the defender nicely and slotted it with his weak foot past the keeper. St Wilfrid’s scored an offside goal just before half time. A shot at the corner or the box and into the side netting of the goal..

Marshall made some subs at half time with Mark Atkinson coming back on up front and soon into the 2nd half when Will Hayton won us a penalty which Mark Atkinson slotted into the top corner of the net with keeper driving wrong way to his right. Just seconds later St Wilfrid’s went down the other end and Ben Headley waved his hand out in the penalty box and gave a penalty away. However penalty was brilliantly saved by Alfie Tucker down to his right hand side. Around the 70th min Mark scored past the goalkeeper to make it 4-1.

We saw the game out well creating a few chances but not letting anything past us…
